- What can I expect from my experience at the Eden Health Retreat?
To cultivate the best in yourself and nourish your physical, spiritual and emotional self. With busy stressful lives and an environment full of pollutants, it can be hard to find balance. A stay at the retreat promises to help restore the balance by offering a holistic program specially designed to alleviate stress and maintain optimum health through healthy eating, exercise and pampering. You will leave the retreat with clarity, direction, a feeling of well-being and a desire to make positive, permanent changes in your life.
- What type of people go to the Eden Health Retreat?
People of all ages and walks of life come to the Eden Health Retreat - whether to manage their weight, improve their diet, stop smoking, combat stress or to just take some well earned time out from their busy world.
- Do many people come on their own?
Many of our guests choose to come on their own and the retreat offers an environment which is very comfortable for them. You can choose single accommodation or if you prefer, we can match you with someone who is gender appropriate in a twin share room.
- How long should I stay?
To fully experience what the Eden Health Retreat has to offer and allow yourself to wholly absorb the maximum benefits, so that you leave feeling better than you ever thought possible, we recommend a 12 night stay.
- Do I need to be fit?
No. The Eden Health Retreat has activities for people of all fitness levels. On arrival you will meet with one of our guest co-ordinators and this enables us to create a program together which is just right for you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
- Do I have to participate in all activities?
No. While we will encourage and support you it is entirely your choice as to what you wish to join in.
- How should I prepare for my visit?
We will send you all the information before you arrive. We recommend that you decrease your intake of coffee, cigarettes and alcohol prior to your arrival to reduce any detoxifying effects (eg. headaches) and start a light exercise program a week or two before if you are not already exercising regularly. A 30 minute walk three times a week is a great start.
- What should I bring?
Pack comfortable, loose clothing, a warm jacket or jumper for early mornings and evenings, two pairs of running or sports shoes; a swimsuit, casual shoes, sunglasses, hat, torch, personal toiletries, tracksuit, sleepwear, bathrobe, umbrella and raincoat.
- Is there anything I shouldn’t bring?
The Eden Health Retreat is a non-smoking, alcohol and non-prescription drug free environment. Please also do not bring coffee, tea, snacks or sweets, radios, laptop computers or mobile phones.
- What time do I arrive?
Check-in on Sunday is between 9.30am and 11.30am. We do require a specified arrival time for the benefit of our check-in processes.
- Why am I encouraged to disconnect from technology?
We encourage you to take a complete break from being connected to the outside world so you can truly refocus on yourself and your wellbeing. As there is no wireless reception in our beautiful valley, laptops and tablets will not receive a signal, nor will mobile phones. We also ask that you minimise your time on the guest computer.
